The University of Sakatchewan is looking to define its public image and it needs your help.
Unfortunately, it looks like U of S students aren’t interested. Thousands of students got the invitation in their announcements on PAWS asking, “What should the University of Saskatchewan be known for?” However, only a handful of students showed up to the institutional positioning town hall on Sept. 18.

It was an atmosphere of stark contrast Sept. 17 as the Nuclear Waste Management Organization met with local leaders to discuss Saskatchewan as a possible site for nuclear waste storage.

HONG KONG (CUP) ”” It’s a humid Thursday night in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai district. Middle-aged women sit on bar stools along Lockhart Road, soliciting passers-by to take a look inside. Pushing back the maroon-coloured velvet curtain of one such bar, individuals are greeted by a dozen mainly Filipino and Thai dancers, some of whom look no older than 18.

Students can look forward to writing final exams on Saturday nights beginning in December.
There are a number of reasons behind the decision. The December exam schedule is shorter than April’s to accommodate Christmas break and the university has been splitting most of its six credit courses in half, so the number of final exams in December is increasing.

Superconductors are materials that conduct electricity with no resistance; usually electricity is conducted through wires, which do offer resistance. This resistance causes loss of electricity and costs power companies money. The inefficiency of conductors is a problem scientists hope to solve.
“The ultimate goal,” Tse said, “is to create material that can operate at ambient conditions and have no resistance.”

The University Students’ Council’s tenuous relationship with the Canadian Federation of Students was the topic of hot debate at the USC meeting on Sept. 10.
