Discover why the shift to Autumn feels like a personal celebration to me.
With summer coming to an end, I catch myself becoming giddy for the leaves to be turning into ombre colours. Autumn has always been one of my favourite seasons, and not just because of the gorgeous red and orange colours that naturally come out.
With the transition of the seasons, it can be so visibly drastic compared to the rest of the year. Which is why September has always felt like the start of a new year. The new school year has always started around this time throughout my life, making it feel like a beginning to a new chapter and an introduction to a new aspect of myself.
I find myself getting excited to determine what else my academics will cause me to discover about myself, such as lessons and attributes I can carry with me throughout my life journey. Even the preparation for the upcoming school year has always felt exhilarating, like gearing up for a fresh slate of opportunities. What can I say? I’ve always been a bit nerdy when it comes to my academics and what comes along with it.
However, it isn’t just the start of a new school year that causes me to appreciate Fall so much. I also love witnessing the people around me appear to be refreshed. After a nice long summer of having more flexibility about their whereabouts, it’s like I’m coming across people who have been able to reset and start the “new year” with all their newfound zen energy. This vibrancy from the people around me fuels my own excitement for what’s in store for the year for all of us.
When it comes to Autumn, I have always found myself to be able to better express myself through clothing. Whether it’s through boots or coats, or variations of plaid staple items, I feel more joy dressing up for the Fall season. Not only is it practical for the colder weather but I enjoy putting an outfit together every time. Clothing holds sentimental value to me, and I feel like an artist creating a mosaic with style combinations – with me as the canvas. What can I say? I’m also a little dramatic.
As I gear up for this upcoming semester, I cannot help but feel giddy over the seasonal drinks arising and old classic shows trending again. It’s important to be able to find joy in the little things so that the Fall semester feels like a breeze (no pun intended).
All the more reason to enjoy Fall with me as you tackle new academic obstacles soon. Good luck to everyone & have a wonderful Fall semester!
