Since phase three has commenced in Saskatchewan, more restrictions have been lifted, including in restaurants. While some are still waiting to re-open to the general public, many are now up and running with COVID-19 protocols set in place like distancing, sanitation and staying at less than 50 per cent capacity at all times.
If you are ever looking for the next hotspot for the squad as Saskatchewan continues with their re-opening — or you just want to try something new for takeout — make sure you check out one of these places.
Sticks and Stones
Anyone who steps foot in Sticks and Stones for the first time will take note of the restaurant’s layout — cooks working away on their left side as you are led down to find a place to sit in a rather compact area. Located at 226 2nd Avenue South, this place is a great stop after a shopping trip or downtown stroll.
This place offers a variety of foods such as ramen, rolls, steamed buns and more. If you want some spice in your life, make sure you try the Spicy Ramen for $18.
Jus Fruit
Jus Fruit is the best after-school hangout or late night snack spot. Located at 960 Attridge Dr #3, this is the one of Saskatoon’s best places to grab bubble tea — seriously, if you haven’t tried it yet, do it. There is quite the range of selection for food and drinks. Fan favourites include JusMango, Bucket Chicken and Shake Fries.
Jeju Korean BBQ Restaurant
If you ever wanted to experience Korean style dining, come to Jeju. Located at 1527A Idylwyld Dr N, this is a place where you want to take the entire crew. That will help you ensure that you can try as many foods as possible without breaking the bank — plus, eating together is the best way to bond, so it’s a win-win for everybody.
Calories Restaurant
If you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, go to Calories and order one of their cheesecakes. Located at 721 Broadway Avenue, this is a place you do not want to miss while you’re in the neighbourhood. The must-try dessert line-up includes the Oreo Cheesecake, Carrot Cake and the Kahlua Hazelnut Torte. They also offer a full course menu that has a wide range of options and something for everyone.
Hearth Restaurant
Feeling fancy? Hearth is your go to. Located at 2404 Melrose Ave, this restaurant proves their vision of providing a comfortable atmosphere for their visitors. Start your meal with a Fish Fry appetizer, followed by a Crispy Chicken main and end with Chocolate Truffles for dessert. Don’t forget to order rosé on the side or try the Apollo 11 if you prefer a non-alcoholic drink.
UNA Pizza + Wine
This restaurant is a not-so-hidden gem. Located at 707 Broadway Avenue, this is one of the city’s best that is sure to make you a regular visitor. Aside from the excellent food, the restaurant’s atmosphere is also sure to impress. I recommend you try their Margherita Pizza or Tagliatelle Pasta. If you’re dining in, make sure you sit in the patio section to get the full experience.
Eating together with family and friends is one of the best ways to catch up and make great memories. Make the most out of this summer and the upcoming months ahead while still maintaining social distancing etiquette.
