If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about what’s involved in being a professional musician, now’s your chance to find out from one of Canada’s most critically acclaimed jazz performers.
Five-time Juno award winning singer and pianist Carol Welsman will be at the University of Saskatchewan this Friday to give students an inside look at the life of a professional artist.
Welsman will be hosting a concert and talk in Convocation Hall at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22. Along with a performance on stage, she’ll be discussing her trade and the ins-and-outs of the recording business from a jazz perspective.
Admission is free for anyone who would like to attend.
Welsman, a Toronto native who is now living in Los Angeles, makes frequent trips to Saskatoon to perform. She’ll also be playing at the Bassment on Saturday, March 23 at 9:00 p.m.
