Art show, silent auction, live music back at the Snelgrove
SILENCE! is an annual art show and silent auction hosted by the Visual Arts Students’ Union (VASU). The show gives VASU members a chance to display and sell their artwork to the public.
After hosting SILENCE! virtually for the past two years, the VASU executives are happy to announce this year’s SILENCE! will be making a return to an in-person setting at the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery.
The art show will be running from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2, with a reception event on Dec. 2, at 7-10 p.m., where DJ Fu will be mixing music for all attendees to enjoy.
The forms of art on display will include sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and digital prints, all of which will be available for bidding. In-person bidding closes at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 2. VASU will announce the winners at the reception as well as through Instagram. Buyers in attendance can pay and pick up the artwork afterwards. Otherwise, VASU will contact the buyer and arrange payment and pickup the next day.
After the in-person event, there will be an online portion where the online gallery and any unsold artwork from the in-person event will be available for bidding from Dec. 4 to Dec. 9. The artworks purchased can be picked up by buyers at the VASU office in the Murray Building (Room 61) or arrangements with the artist can be made for delivery.
Join VASU for a unique art-viewing experience and support the various artists in the USask community.
