Advanced polls for the civic election will open in Upper Place Riel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week. Eligible voters can cast an early ballot for mayor, city councillor and the school board trustees.
Election day is officially Oct. 24.
To be eligible, voters must be a Canadian citizen aged 18 or older the day of the election. Also voters must have lived in Saskatchewan for at least six months and lived at their current place of residence for at least three months.
Voters must present government-issued photo ID, along with proof of residence. A Saskatchewan driver’s license is acceptable. Without a driver’s license, a credit card bill or a city utility bill shown with government-issued photo ID is legitimate proof.
If an eligible voter does not possess any form of acceptable identification they may have another eligible voter with identification vouch for them.
An election official will be available to assist voters who have a physical disability or have trouble reading.
