The Department of Biology has reason to suspect that someone stole a final exam for the Biology 224 lab exam. It is not known how many copies have been circulated amongst students but the final, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. today, has been indefinitely postponed until an alternative solution can be arranged.
This will effect the hundreds of students currently enrolled in the course.
This is the email students received from the department regarding the cancellation:
“Hello everyone,
Unfortunately the 224 laboratory final exam must be cancelled. We have strong evidence to suggest that there was a breech of security. An exam was taken without authorization.
I spoke with the course coordinator and we agreed that the most fair thing to do is cancel the final as we do not know how many copies have been circulated. This is completely out of our hands and the most appropriate course of action is to cancel the lab exam. We are currently discussing options that include rescheduling the lab final or possibly excluding the lab final from the lab portion of [Biology] 224.
Thank you for your understanding, we will let all of you know what will happen as soon as possible.”
