University Students’ Council voted against the proposed USSU Social Justice Centre March 24. The vote followed almost two hours of debate in which USSU President Chris Stoicheff and VP external Blair Shumlich became the spokespeople for their respective sides of the debate. Stoicheff favoured the establishment of the centre while Shumlich opposed it.

In the end, it was a close vote: 11-9.
