A plan to help students through postsecondary spending is featured in the platforms of both major parties in the Nov. 7 provincial election.
Brad Wall and the Saskatchewan Party have introduced the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship and the Saskatchewan Advance Grant for Education Savings. On the other hand, if elected, Dwain Lingenfelter and the NDP have said they will bring back a fully-funded tuition freeze for Saskatchewan universities and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology.

What immediately struck me when I first strolled into Louis’ for this year’s annual Pride Centre Drag Extravaganza — aside from the realization that I would get to use some really awesome adjectives in my review of the show — was that drag queens have fabulous legs.
This year’s Drag Extravaganza was a roaring success. It was a genuinely entertaining introduction to a scene that, while still on the fringe of the mainstream, is slowly but surely becoming more popular and accepted by the public every year.

As students, we have the right to freely market our skills. If you are seeking a master’s in business administration, you can market yourself to countless businesses; if you are an artist, you can share your work and attempt to sell it at various galleries and stores.
Imagine a different scenario. What if you were required to submit your skills or products to a board that would then decide where and to whom your product could be sold or your skills utilized?

With its superstars out of the lineup, the Huskies men’s basketball team still managed to win its third straight Graham Shootout title this past weekend at the Physical Activity Complex.
The Shootout is an annual preseason round-robin tournament in which the Dogs host four top-10 teams from throughout Canada. Graham Construction has sponsored the tournament since 2008.

Saskatoon City Councillors discussed and ultimately deferred a motion on Oct. 24 to implement paid metered parking on Sundays in the downtown, Broadway and Riversdale neighbourhoods.
There are no large metropolitan centres in Canada that currently charge for parking on Sundays, though city councillor Darren Hill says there are other municipalities that are already doing this.

As a fan of Canadian music, and of independent artists, I always make a point of revisiting old favourites. With David Myles, I was a steadfast fan from the start. Over his career, he has released a series of steadily-improving albums that all represented his talents and style well. This is why I found his most recent album so disappointing.
