Reality fractures for a moment when I realize I’m looking at myself in 3D on television. Tucked away in the basement of the Education Building, Panasonic demonstrates their latest 3D technology by pointing a prototype of one of the first ever hand-held 3D cameras at the small crowd and hooking it up to a 3D ready plasma TV screen. We each take turns trying on the active shutter glasses to look at ourselves in 3D.

As the editor of a newspaper, I get a lot of press releases.
My mouse was hovering over the “delete” button of one such press release when this sentence caught my eye: “Now, I appreciate that The Sheaf doesn’t deal with frivolities and trivialities, nor does it ordinarily engage in the crass promotion of what is obviously a commercial website…”

Although the Mendel Art Gallery may appear seamless in its exhibition of art from a patron’s perspective, the truth is that the Mendel is way over capacity in the storage area of its massive permanent collection. A move to the Art Gallery of Saskatchewan, being built at River Landing, is seen by curators as the best solution.
