The fireworks in Griffiths Stadium provided more of a spark than the University of Saskatchewan Huskies offence Oct. 14 in the Dogs 20-8 loss to the University of Calgary Dinos.
“I think we dropped five or six passes. We didn’t run hard, we didn’t block anybody, and it was pretty much a total offensive collapse,” said Huskies coach Brian Towriss.

The Huskies are hoping that their luck on home turf continues Oct. 14 when they line up against the league-leading Calgary Dinos for their final home game of the season.
Saskatchewan has yet to lose inside Griffiths Stadium this year, but they will be greatly tested by the undefeated Dinos — earlier this year, the Dinos beat the Dogs 38-24 in Calgary.

The Huskies men’s soccer team saw their three-game winning streak ended in their final match of this past weekend.
The Dogs played two games on the road Sept. 17 and 18 against the University of Fraser Valley Cascades and the University of Victoria Vikes. They defeated the Cascades 4-1 in the first game but were upset 2-1 by the Vikes on the following day.

Friday night lights, marching bands, tailgating, fireworks and Huskies cheerleaders ”” they’re all part of the rich football tradition at the U of S. Sadly, however, one of these facets has been removed from Huskies football culture and will no longer be found at Griffiths Stadium.
It’s the Huskies cheerleading team.

Brothers Zach and Dylan Hart played for opposing teams during the Huskies v. Rams football game at Griffiths Stadium on Sept. 9. While the Huskies defeated the Rams, watching Dylan leave the game on a stretcher wasn’t what Zach wanted to see.
