Two new goaltenders will grace the crease for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women’s hockey team next season.
Tehnille Gard and Cassidy Hendricks signed with the Huskies in May along with four other new recruits who are expected to fill the seven roster spots left open by last season’s graduating players.

Jerson Barandica-Hamilton came dressed in his best off-field outfit March 31 at TCU Place to accept the E. Kent Phillips Trophy for male athlete of the year at the annual Huskie Salute.
Barandica-Hamilton led the Canada West conference in scoring last season with eight goals and six assists in 14 games, breaking the previous conference records for goals, assists and points. The engineering student was also crowned Canada West MVP and named a Canadian Interuniversity Sport first team all-Canadian.

Members of the 2009-10 Huskies basketball team reunited March 15, but rather than meeting on the court, they were checking tickets and greeting people at the Roxy Theatre.
The former squad was ushering fans for the premiere of Underdogs, a feature-length documentary film that captures the journey their team took en route to becoming Canadian Interuniversity Sport national champions that season.
