The Huskies track and field team jumped into the 2013 season with an early season victory, defeating the Regina Cougars 161-84 in the annual Prairie Dual non-conference track meet at the Saskatoon Field House Jan. 12.

A huge weight was lifted off the Huskies women’s basketball team Nov. 18 as they tallied their first win of the season against the visiting Lethbridge Pronghorns.
The Dogs, who had lost their previous three games, downed the Horns 62-55.

A quick nap nearly cost the Huskies men’s hockey team their second loss of the season this past weekend at Rutherford Rink.
Although they did come out with a 5-4 overtime win and 2-1 victory against the Manitoba Bisons on Nov. 4 and 5, respectively, the Bisons’ strong attack forced Saskatchewan to stay on its toes.

Few teams can figure out how to win when they fumble the ball nine times in one game, but the University of Saskatchewan Huskies weren’t afraid to try on Oct. 22 under the lights of Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
The Huskies, who were lucky that the Regina Rams only recovered three of their nine fumbles, barely hung on to clinch a playoff spot in a 16-15 victory over the Rams.

With its superstars out of the lineup, the Huskies men’s basketball team still managed to win its third straight Graham Shootout title this past weekend at the Physical Activity Complex.
The Shootout is an annual preseason round-robin tournament in which the Dogs host four top-10 teams from throughout Canada. Graham Construction has sponsored the tournament since 2008.

The Huskies men’s hockey team scored 10 goals in two games to down the Regina Cougars twice this past weekend.
The home-and-home series saw the Dogs win 5-2 in Regina on Oct. 14 and 5-4 the next night in Saskatoon.

Brothers Zach and Dylan Hart played for opposing teams during the Huskies v. Rams football game at Griffiths Stadium on Sept. 9. While the Huskies defeated the Rams, watching Dylan leave the game on a stretcher wasn’t what Zach wanted to see.
