    A huge weight was lifted off the Huskies women’s basketball team Nov. 18 as they tallied their first win of the season against the visiting Lethbridge Pronghorns.

    The Dogs, who had lost their previous three games, downed the Horns 62-55.

    With its superstars out of the lineup, the Huskies men’s basketball team still managed to win its third straight Graham Shootout title this past weekend at the Physical Activity Complex.

    The Shootout is an annual preseason round-robin tournament in which the Dogs host four top-10 teams from throughout Canada. Graham Construction has sponsored the tournament since 2008.

    The Huskies men’s basketball forward represented Canada at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China this summer. Canada won silver after losing 68-55 to Serbia in the final ”” a team they had beaten in round robin play earlier in the tournament.
