The Saskatchewan Roughriders capped off their dream season with a 45-23 dismantling of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Regina on Sunday night to capture the 2013 Grey Cup. The Riders dominated from the coin toss and turned the province into full on party mode.

The University of Manitoba Bisons may have had the Winnipeg home crowd on their side during the Canada West semi-final game but the Huskies had history on theirs — the Huskies had not lost a post-season game to the Bisons in 40 years. That changed on Nov. 1 when the Bisons defeated the Huskies 37-36 in a rousing contest that went right down to the wire.

Huskies’ football player Charlie Power is looking to trade in his green and white uniform for red, black and white when he suits up for the Calgary Stampeders. The Okotoks, Alta. native was drafted 28th overall to the Stampeders in the Canadian Football League Entry Draft in 2012.

The Huskies football team battled the elements and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds on Sept. 27 for a 17-12 victory in Vancouver. The Huskies are now 4-1 this season and remain in the number two spot in the Canada West rankings.
