The Huskies men’s volleyball team’s difficulty closing out matches came back to haunt them this past weekend when they faced the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.

The Huskies women’s basketball team continued their stellar season on Jan. 10 and 11, posting wins over the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds and the University of Victoria Vikes. The Dogs are now 11-1 on the season and continue their dominance over the Prairie Division.

After suffering two losses this past weekend, the Huskies men’s basketball team fell to second place in the Prairie Division with a 9-3 record.

After picking up two important wins over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen, the Huskies women’s volleyball team remains in the playoff hunt. The Dogs topped the Wesmen on Jan. 10 and 11 to improve to 7-7 on the season. The wins helped move the Dogs into sixth place in the Canada West Division — high enough to qualify for the postseason.

Heading into the mid-season break the Huskies women’s hockey team earned two much needed wins over the Mount Royal University Cougars on Nov. 29 and 30 in Calgary, Alberta.

The University of Saskatchewan men’s hockey team sent the Mount Royal University Cougars home empty handed after the Dogs swept the weekend series on Nov. 29 and 30 at Rutherford Rink.
