After Councillor Bob Pringle resigned on Dec. 31, Ward 7 — the south side of Saskatoon — council has been looking to fill his seat.
Of the seven candidates, two are U of S graduates and one is a current student.
According to the City of Saskatoon website, Robin Bellamy graduated from the U of S with his Bachelor’s of Education and is currently serving as a Saskatoon Public School Board Trustee. He also helped establish Egaadz Youth Centre.
Patrick Thomson graduated from the U of S and has sat on the city’s Board of Revision since 2003.
Mairin Loewen is currently working on her Masters thesis in Political Studies at the U of S and has volunteered with the Open Door Society, CFCR and the Heart of the City Piano Program.
