As protestors continued to swarm the streets of Cairo in celebration of the resignation of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, Egyptian-Canadians in Saskatoon also celebrated — just a little more casually.
Saskatoon’s Egyptian-Canadian residents gathered in dozens at the Saskatoon Islamic Centre on Feb. 11 to celebrate the revolutionary shift in political power that Egypt has displayed in recent weeks.
Prayers were held and Middle Eastern cuisine was served to commemorate the end of Mubarak’s lengthy reign as Egypt’s leader.
