The University of Saskatchewan’s College of Agriculture and Bioresources is developing two programs aimed at fostering their relationship with the Aboriginal community.

One proposal is a post-graduate program for Aboriginal students, which promises practical training in the field of agribusiness and land management.

Students will be trained in developing relations between the Aboriginal community and the agribusiness sector. The program has already received a one million dollar donation from The Sprott Foundation.

David Natcher, the current director of the Indigenous Land Management Institute, has been appointed to the newly created position of assistant dean of Aboriginal programs and research.

His new position will focus on forming relationships with Aboriginal organizations and communities throughout Saskatchewan and Canada.
