A string of posters recently put up around the University of Saskatchewan have been brought to Campus Safety’s attention for containing disturbing materials.

Campus Safety issued a request for information pertaining to the posters on April 11.

The most recent poster reported was in the Arts Building and was found to be alarming.

Director of Campus Safety Brent Penner described the poster as depicting “an individual with what appeared to be some kind of a firearm pointed at that person’s head and a show of something coming out the other side.”

Penner said the poster seems to be part of a series signed by “EMPTY.” He said he is unsure of whether or not the signature has philosophical or personal meanings. However, given the nature of one of the posters, there is concern for the well-being of the artist.

“We want to make sure that whoever has done the drawings is okay and that the latest one made known to us isn’t some kind of a cry for help or sign that maybe somebody needs some kind of assistance.”

Penner said that there posters are not in any way illegal and that Campus Safety is concerned only from a health standpoint.
