[alert type=white ]Pandas 1, Huskies 2[/alert] [alert type=white ]Pandas 2, Huskies 1 (2OT)[/alert]The women’s hockey team locked up a playoff spot in the CanWest, going 1–0–1 versus Alberta over the weekend. Sitting in fourth in the conference, the squad will work to move up the standings in their final two regular season games. The Huskies will travel to Regina on Feb. 12 and the Cougars will come to town the following night.
Men’s Basketball:
[alert type=white ]Bobcats 76, Huskies 77[/alert] [alert type=white ]Bobcats 59, Huskies 88[/alert]The men’s basketball team picked a perfect time for their first sweep of the season, as they handled the Brandon Bobcats in a pair of weekend home games. With these wins, the Dogs kept their slim playoff hopes alive, needing four wins to close out the year and some help to get in. One of the teams they’re chasing is the Alberta Golden Bears — who they’ll face this weekend — and a couple of wins at home would be huge for their playoff chase.
Women’s Basketball:
[alert type=white ]Bobcats 44, Huskies 79[/alert] [alert type=white ]Bobcats 59, Huskies 88[/alert]It was another smooth weekend for the women’s basketball team (16–0) as they rolled to another clean sweep, this time over the visiting Brandon Bobcats. Senior guard Laura Dally had a big weekend, scoring 40 points in the two games. Next up are the Alberta Pandas (16–1), who sit second in the Canada West and will visit the Physical Activity Complex on Feb. 12 and 13.
