In partnership with Stretch Internet, the Canada West Universities Athletic Association has launched Canada West TV.
The network will broadcast a majority of Canada West games live throughout the year at canadawest.tv. The site will show all basketball and volleyball games as well as select football, hockey and soccer games. The online streaming will also include a scoreboard and a live statistics feed. All games that are not broadcast will still feature the live stats and scoreboard.
“I cannot emphasize enough how thrilled we are to partner with Canada West,” said Stretch Internet President Ryan Ermeling in a press release. “Fans will enjoy an incredibly user-rich experience, with high-quality live and on-demand video along with integrated live stats and other features — on both desktop and mobile platforms.”
Games will be available online, on Flash 10.1-enabled mobile devices and on iOS devices, including the iPhone, the iPad and the iPod Touch.
“It provides us with a unique opportunity as a conference and as individual schools to have our product seen by fans across Western Canada and around the world,” said Canada West vice president of marketing Ben Matchett.
The site also allows fans to customize their experience. Fans can filter the homepage by sport and by school, can choose to watch live or archived games and can create a personalized events page.
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies will have three football games, all basketball games, all hockey games and nearly all volleyball games broadcast online at canadawest.tv.
