The U of S will purchase 11 quarters of land just out of Saskatoon in May.
The land is nearly all connected, with only three quarters separate from the main piece of land.
The aim is to move U of S livestock operations to a rural setting, to facilitate futre growth and improve land conditions. Currently, cattle for Agriculture and Bioresources are kept along the river north of Circle drive.
The Beef Research Unit will be the only livestock to move, while dairy cows, poultry, sheep and fish will remain in the city.
