Great article, if the U of S is looking to play games to get their program kick started they may want to look out east. CUFLA the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association has teams in both Ontario and Quebec. These teams have many box pros and ontario junior a and b players that decide to stay north of the border for their education. There season starts in the fall but have heard that many of the schools participate in spring tourneys and exhibition play against american schools.

It would be great to see a university lacrosse team in saskatchewan!

Great article! I am reading it online from the United States. As a former University of Saskatchewan student (first year Law) and former board member of Saskatchewan Lacrosse I hope a lacrosse program at the U of S becomes a reality sooner rather than later.

As noted in this article, the Scorpions program has yielded many successes as well as wonderful opportunities for lacrosse players. U of S has a pool of homegrown talent to implement a program from a player and coaching standpoint.

My 16 year old Chip is making the transition from box to field here in Bloomington and plays in an indoor winter field lacrosse league in Indianapolis. There are many opportunities to play and attend summer camps here in the U.S. We have had our eyes opened at the cost of American tuiton as well so I can entirely relate to some of the choices to stay in Saskatchewan for a more affordable education.

I look forward to seeing this great game at the U of S!
